Cecil Rice was born in Nottingham in 1961. He has both lived and worked in Brighton since 1974. Since graduating from Brighton Art College in 1983 he has pursued a successful career as a fine artist exhibiting throughout the UK. In 2002 he enjoyed his first Cork Street (London) show, which was a great success, and in the same year exhibited work for the first time in Japan.
Travel is the central inspiration for his work. Italian cities, in particular Venice, form the focus for much of his work.
Cecil Rice's silkscreen editions are very well collected. Each edition is printed by hand, working closely with the silk screener himself.
