This project evidences the salt marshes known locally as the barene. Early experiments began in 2013 by making cyanotypes prints that were made on location, exposed to the sun and washed in the Lagoon. These were accompanied by black and white photographs viewing the waters edge taken from a small boat. The paper is then dried in the dark and is ready to be placed under a negative (to make a print) or a flat object (to make a photogram) and exposed to the rays of the sun. The only other chemical compound involved is one that is often taken for granted: water.
