Waiting

Like so many artists, I began drawing when I was very young, but it wasn't until 10 years ago that I found the medium which I love. Using pastel pencils gives me the freedom and possibility to lay as much detail as possible onto the pastelmat paper. I have always been detail oriented, and a huge animal lover, so combining the two is just heaven for me.

I have my work displayed in a few galleries, including Otterton Mill, and have had a solo exhibition in 2021 at the Custom House in Exeter. I have also been shortlisted for the Jacksons art prize and Mall galleries pastel art prize.

I am an Army veteran and due to becoming a below knee amputee, an ex NHS registered nurse. Now I spend my time drawing, doing commissions of animals, people, even the odd car or two. I also complete marathons and half marathons using my everyday non-sport wheelchair, and am the current world record holder of both distances. So my artwork provides some much needed relaxation from a heavy training schedule. At my desk, is where I relax, and get absorbed in a world of fur and feathers.
